DESCRIPTION
This project includes two culvert replacements on a creek titled "Hermison Creek", improving road conditions, and treating invasive plants in the construction area. The creek's headwaters are non-fish streams that come from Hermison Road and Hwy 110 to a fish bearing stream, flows through the Tribe's Hermison Property at Culvert 2, and flows directly into 10 acres of wetland habitat, and through Culvert 1 with the outlet near the historic oxbow of the Quillayute River Reach 4. Opening the two culverts to fish passage would open approximately 0.75 miles of habitat and associated 10 acres of wetland. Additionally, repairing 1 miles of road would allow for decrease in sedimentation to the fish bearing waters and improve proper access for future restoration projects.
