DESCRIPTION
Wild Horse Spring Creek was a little known perennial, spring-fed creek until it was discovered it allowed for steelhead passage and spawning in 2006. While it does support spawning, it is flow limited and part of the creek has gone dry annually during the summer, fall and winter. A project was undertaken in the perennial flow section of the creek to install a hardened rock crossing. Juvenile steelhead were found rearing in the creek and the project should enhance, spawning, and rearing habitat by abating sediment, reducing livestock access, and promoting riparian zone vigor.
