DESCRIPTION
BPA Contract 59451. This contract is primarily for the installations of the pump screens. The outreach to irrigators, permitting, site assessments, designs, and cost estimates were accomplished under contract number 54643. Originally part of contract 54643, the actual purchase and installation of the screens was delayed because the cultural resources review was more complex and extensive than originally anticipated and planned for under contract 54643. Thus, it is anticipated that, by the time the cultural resources review and reporting are complete, it will be too late to install screens--the ground will be frozen--and the screens will have to be installed in Spring 2013.
Under this contract, up to12 screens will installed. Initially, it was thought 14 screens would be installed but it was determined that the screens which would be installed are river screens and these types of screens are more expensive. Since the majority of screens to be installed under this contract are of the river type screens, up to 12 screens will be possible to install due to the cost of the fabrication and installation of these types of screens. The SoW contains 12 locations or project sites. The subcontractor has identified the locations of the screens that won't be installed under this contract due to funding constraints, the SoW has been amended to include the appropriate WEs for WE #69 (Install Fish Screens).
